A writer pretending to be a tourist weaseled information from unwitting citizens.

PEACEFUL - It has come to the attention of this publication that over a period of some months, a scurrilous hack by the name of Adelle Bradford has approached various citizens in the NoName River area acquiring bits and pieces of personal and family history.

Her approach has been insidious, and unwitting and trusting citizens have innocently shared information that this so-called writer has distorted for her own pecuniary purposes, and, thinly disguised, incorporated into a book called "The Legends of Nevermore County".

"Legends", indeed!

It is suggested that from now on, unassuming tourists asking seemingly innocent questions about ourselves and local history simply be referred to the Public Library or Department of Records at the County Seat in Billberg.

Mayor calls general meeting to discuss scandalous publication.

MOCKINGBIRD - The mayor of Mockingbird Valley has issued an invitation to all concerned citizens in the NoName River area to attend a General Meeting in the Civic Center there to discuss this dismal situation. According to Mayor Tilden Dunn, "Not only have current citizens been slanderously attacked, in several instances the reputations of our illustrious ancestors have been impugned."

Mayor Dunn went on to mention implications made about the statue of his son, Marcus Dunn, that stands in the town square, and emphatically stated that the statue does not move. This was followed by Louise Swing's embarassed denial that the pair of fox statues ornamenting her lawn moved in an amorous fashion.

As this does seem to affect all of us citizens in one way or another, according to our unimpeachable source, it behooves everyone who can possibly attend the meeting on Saturday evening at 7 P.M. to do so in order to find a way to end this threat to our peaceful existence.
